Meet Eric!
Born and raised in Chicago, Eric has called San Diego home since 2017. While in school for website design and development, he earned extra money by dog walking and pet-sitting for a local company. Over time, Eric fell in love with the pets he cared for, and that bond was what he really took notice of. In addition, he was grateful to be providing a service that the pets and their owners needed and benefited from.
After much thought, he decided to continue creating those relationships with the pets and started his own company. Wag n Walk Dog Walks, LLC was established in 2023. “I want to have the best pet care company out there! I want the best team members, the best pet/client relationships, the best safety record, and the best value!”
Hometown:
Chicago, IL
Pets:
He and his wife are the proud pet parents of an adorable chihuahua mix named Bella! We adopted her from the San Diego Humane Society in June 2023. She’s such a joy to have with us!
Interesting Fact:
Eric has been playing electric guitar for the past 33 years and is passionate about music.
What’s your top destination on your must-visit list?
Iceland! From the pictures of it, it looks stunning and breathtaking!
What’s the best compliment you’ve ever received?
Eric was told that he is the strongest person they know. That humbled him and made him look at himself from the outside in. That compliment has stayed with him, and he’ll never forget the day he heard it.
What’s one of your most cherished memories?
Eric was at game six in 1997 when the Chicago Bulls played the Utah Jazz for the NBA Title. That just so happened to wind up being the game that clinched the Bulls 6th Championship! To have been able to witness in person Michael Jordan win one of his rings is one of the best memories of his life!
What’s one thing you pride yourself on?
Being punctual. Eric is never late for anything. He thinks punctuality is important, and it also shows you respect other people’s time.
What do you love most about your job?
The way every day feels like a new chance to connect—both with the pets I care for and the people who ask me to look after their companions. Every pet has its own quirks and personality, and I strive to understand each of them fully. There’s something incredibly special about walking through the door and being greeted by a wagging tail or a curious, expectant look. It’s a small but powerful reminder that the bond we share goes deeper than just a walk or feeding time.
The comfort pets feel and the trust their owners place in me is what makes this work so meaningful and rewarding!
What inspired you to start your own business?
I started out helping my brother by looking after his dogs whenever he needed it. It didn’t take long to realize how much I loved spending time with them. That bond sparked something in me, so I began walking and pet-sitting part-time in Chicago. It felt completely natural. Then I moved to San Diego, which gave me the chance to turn that passion into something more—a way to provide pets with care that’s as personal and attentive as they deserve.
I realized how important it was to create a service where pets feel safe and cared for, with walks that suit their individual needs. Building connections with pets and their owners made opening Wag n Walk Dog Walks such an easy decision.
Why should our clients choose you?
Asking a stranger to care for your pet is a big decision, and I’ve built Wag n Walk to make that choice as easy as possible. From private walks to CPR-certified staff who are trained to handle emergencies, safety is at the heart of everything we do. All our staff are fully trained, CPR-certified, and background-checked, so you can trust we’ll treat your pet like family.
Every walk is GPS-tracked for accountability and peace of mind, and we always go the extra mile to make sure your pet feels safe and cared for. We also love giving back to our community, which is why we donate to the San Diego Humane Society each month. Our goal is to create a relationship that both you and your pet can rely on.

Maia H.
PACK LEADER
Meet Maia!
Maia is a San Diego native who has spent most of her life enjoying everything the area has to offer. Growing up, she stayed active in a wide range of sports, including soccer, volleyball, track and field, and martial arts—where she proudly earned her Black Belt.
She has a true love for the outdoors and enjoys everything from beach days and hiking to spending time with friends. Maia attended Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Liberal Studies.
After graduating in 2020, she returned to San Diego and worked as a physical therapy aide at a local clinic. While she valued the experience, she realized her passions were leading her in a different direction—toward aviation. Driven by her love of travel and sense of adventure, Maia has earned her private pilot certificate with an instrument rating and is currently working toward her commercial rating.
Her long-term goal is to fly professionally, whether for a charter company or private aviation, and continue exploring the world from above.
Hometown:
San Diego, CA
Pets:
Maia is a proud dog lover and shares two Golden Retrievers, Brandi and Bailey, with her family. She currently lives in a home with three cats who, while not officially hers, have certainly won her over—she cares for them and loves them as if they were her own.
Interesting Fact:
Maia began her martial arts journey at just six years old and earned her black belt by the age of fourteen. While her primary discipline is Taekwondo, her training has always incorporated a well-rounded mix of techniques and styles, reflecting a broad and versatile approach to martial arts.
What are you passionate about?
Maia has many passions but flying and travel are at the top of the list. She’s driven by a desire to explore the world, experience new cultures, and discover unique destinations—Bali and Iceland are currently at the top of her travel bucket list.
Equally important to Maia are her family and friends. She has two brothers—one older and one younger—and shares a close bond with both. Whether it’s playing games, cooking together, or simply enjoying meaningful conversations, she truly values quality time with the people she loves.
What book, movie, or music changed your outlook on life?
A film that truly shaped Maia’s perspective on life is The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. Its central message resonated deeply with her—captured perfectly in the Life magazine quote featured throughout the movie: “To see the world, things dangerous to come to, to see behind walls, draw closer, to find each other and to feel. That is the purpose of life.”
This message inspired Maia to approach life with greater courage and intention. It encouraged her to step outside her comfort zone, pursue her dreams, connect more deeply with others, and embrace every opportunity. She believes life is too short to wait—making now the time to explore, grow, and truly live.
What’s one hobby you’d love to get into?
A new hobby Maia is excited to explore is longboarding. With a deep love for the ocean, she has always felt a sense of calm and connection with the water. While she enjoys swimming—especially in the ocean—she’s long been inspired by watching longboarders glide effortlessly across the waves. The balance, flow, and creativity of walking the board and performing smooth, stylish moves have always caught her eye, and she’s eager to give it a try herself.
If you could choose a superpower, what would it be?
If Maia could choose any superpower, it would be the ability to teleport. With her passion for travel and exploring the world, the idea of instantly arriving at any destination is especially appealing. The freedom to experience new places without limits perfectly aligns with her adventurous spirit. If she could teleport anywhere right now, she’d likely choose a beautiful tropical beach.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
The best advice Maia has ever received is to maintain a positive outlook on life. She believes that choosing positivity—even during challenging moments—can significantly influence both mindset and actions. This perspective helps her stay grounded, fostering a strong sense of gratitude and appreciation for the many things she values in life.

These days, you’ll often find her strolling the beaches of San Diego in search of sand dollars—one of her favorite relaxing pastimes.
How do you like to start your day?
Stephanie enjoys beginning each day with intention—a short prayer of gratitude, a refreshing walk with her husband and Daisy, and a cup of freshly roasted coffee. Starting her mornings with positivity, appreciation, and just the right touch of caffeine sets the tone for a great day ahead.

Stephanie takes great pride in being dependable and consistently delivering on her commitments. She believes reliability, paired with clear and thoughtful communication, is the foundation of strong, lasting relationships.

The sport holds a special place in her heart, filled with cherished memories from both her own upbringing and the time she spent raising her children around it.
A few years ago, she proudly made the switch from the Los Angeles Dodgers to the San Diego Padres—and she’s never looked back. Catching a game at Petco Park is one of her favorite ways to spend time in San Diego. Go Padres! ⚾

Skylar B.
Social Media Manager
Meet Skylar!
Originally from Florida, Skylar spent much of childhood in the suburbs of Chicago before heading to Miami University (the one in Ohio!) to earn a bachelor’s degree in digital marketing.
After graduation, Chicago became home, and the past three years have been filled with embracing everything city life has to offer. When not working, you’ll likely find Skylar attending Pilates or yoga classes, discovering new coffee shops and restaurants (bonus points if matcha is on the menu), taking long walks along the lakefront, creating content, or planning the next travel adventure.
Most recently, Skylar explored Paris and quickly fell in love with the city’s charm, rich culture, beautiful architecture, and—perhaps most importantly—the incredible pastries.
Hometown:
Chicago, IL
Pets:
A black lab named Bella
Interesting Fact:
One fun fact about Skylar is that athletics have been a big part of life from an early age. Starting at just five years old, Skylar spent nearly a decade competing in all-star cheerleading, where flying and tumbling quickly became favorite parts of the sport. The combination of teamwork, athleticism, and performing in front of a crowd made every season exciting.
In high school, the focus shifted from cheerleading to dance team, which soon became an equally important part of everyday life. While competitions were always rewarding, the highlight was often performed at football games. The energy from the crowd, the excitement of Friday nights, and the camaraderie among teammates created countless unforgettable memories.
Perhaps the best part of the experience was the friendships that came from it. Many of those teammates remain close friends today, proving that the lessons and connections built through cheer and dance can last far beyond the final performance.
What’s your favorite place to eat around here?
Although Chicago is home, Skylar visits San Diego regularly and has discovered a few local favorites that are always worth recommending.
At the top of the list is The Goods in Carlsbad, a must-visit for donut lovers. Known for creative flavors like churro, Nutella buttercream, and seasonal berry varieties, the standout favorite is the Brown Butter donut. This cake-style donut is coated in a toasted brown butter glaze and finished with Maldon sea salt, creating a sweet-and-salty combination that’s hard to beat. The iced matcha latte is also an unexpected standout and pairs perfectly with any donut selection.
Another favorite spot is Jeune et Jolie, also located in Carlsbad. While it’s a special-occasion dining experience, it’s one that’s well worth the splurge. The restaurant’s tasting menu changes frequently, making every visit feel unique, and the warm, welcoming atmosphere elevates the experience even further. From inventive cocktails to thoughtful “gifts from the chef” throughout the meal, every detail feels intentional. The result is a memorable dining experience that leaves guests happily full and already planning their next visit.
What’s your favorite sport to watch or play?
When it comes to sports, hockey and baseball are at the top of Skylar’s list. Growing up just outside of Chicago meant becoming a loyal Chicago Blackhawks fan, and countless trips to the United Center have created plenty of great memories over the years. There’s simply nothing quite like the energy and excitement of a live hockey game.
Baseball season is just as exciting, especially when it involves cheering on the San Diego Padres. A game at Petco Park is hard to beat, thanks to the incredible atmosphere, beautiful ballpark, and surprisingly amazing food options. Although most Padres games are watched from the comfort of a living room in Chicago, any opportunity to catch one in person is always welcomed.
Living in Chicago also means frequent visits to Wrigley Field whenever the Cubs are in town. The historic ballpark is an experience every sports fan should have at least once. For anyone visiting the city, Skylar’s recommendation is simple: catch a Cubs game, enjoy a Cubs win, and spend the evening exploring Wrigleyville afterward. It’s a classic Chicago experience that never disappoints.
Who’s your favorite musical artist?
Choosing favorite music is no easy task for Skylar, who is constantly listening to something new. With a playlist that spans just about every genre, narrowing it down is a challenge, but a few artists consistently rise to the top: Stick Figure, Sabrina Carpenter, and Fred again..
Stick Figure has become a go-to favorite thanks to their upbeat, feel-good sound and infectious energy. After seeing them perform live, Skylar was instantly hooked. Whether it’s a walk along the lakefront, a road trip, or a gathering with friends, reggae music always seems to set the perfect mood, and Stick Figure is often the soundtrack.
On the pop side of things, Sabrina Carpenter has been a longtime favorite. Her catchy songs, clever lyrics, and undeniable stage presence make every release exciting. After years of listening, Skylar can still be found singing along to just about every track and continues to be impressed by Sabrina’s evolution as an artist and performer.
Rounding out the list is Fred again.., whose creativity and production style never fail to amaze. In 2025, Skylar was lucky enough to score tickets to one of his Chicago shows, an unforgettable experience that featured nearly five hours of music and energy. It remains one of the most memorable concerts attended to date and solidified Fred again.. as a permanent fixture in the playlist rotation.
How do you turn it around when you’re having a bad day?
Like many people who spend most of the day behind a screen, Skylar occasionally needs a reset. Fortunately, living just minutes from Chicago’s Lakefront Trail makes it easy to step away, get some fresh air, and enjoy some of the best views the city has to offer. A walk along the lake is often the perfect cure for a busy day or a creative slump.
Staying active is also a priority, which is why weekly workout classes are always on the calendar. Even on days when motivation is lacking, there’s never any regret after finishing a class. The energy of a group setting, combined with the challenge of a tough workout, makes the experience both rewarding and motivating.
Whether it’s a long walk by the water or a Pilates session surrounded by like-minded people, movement is the go-to way for Skylar to recharge, reset, and boost both mood and energy levels.
What shows do you like to binge watch?
When it comes to television, Skylar is always looking for the next great show to binge-watch. At the top of the list is the ultimate comfort show, New Girl, which has been watched more times than can reasonably be counted (at least seven, and probably more). Comedy and sitcoms are the go-to genres, with Modern Family ranking among the all-time favorites as well.
That said, keeping up with trending shows is practically a hobby. From The Summer I Turned Pretty, Off Campus, Outer Banks, and Emily in Paris to whatever series is currently taking over social media, Skylar is usually caught up and ready to discuss the latest plot twists.
Reality TV is another guilty pleasure. If a show is generating buzz, chances are it’s already on the watchlist. Favorites include Love Island, America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, The Kardashians, and Big Brother. Between the unexpected drama, shocking eliminations, and endless internet discourse, there’s always something entertaining to talk about.
